There are festivals… and then there are sacred moments that purify the soul. Holika Dahan is one of those divine occasions.
On 2nd March 2026 at 6:00 PM, as evening descends and the sky turns golden, devotees will gather to witness the lighting of the sacred Holika Dahan Pula, kindled with holy Agni.
From the perspective of Sanātana Dharma, this is not merely tradition — it is a powerful spiritual reminder. Holika Dahan commemorates the unwavering devotion of Prahlada and the divine protection granted by Vishnu. When Holika, driven by arrogance and evil intent, attempted to destroy Prahlada’s faith, it was she who was consumed by the fire, while devotion remained untouched.
Dharma stands. Adharma falls. That is eternal law.
As the sacred fire is lit at 6 PM, Agni Dev becomes witness to our prayers. In Vedic tradition, Agni is not just fire — he is the divine messenger who carries offerings to the heavens. The Pula represents the burning away of:
Ego
Anger
Jealousy
Negativity
Past burdens
Devotees will offer coconuts, grains, and prayers into the flames. Each offering is personal — a silent surrender of what we wish to release, and a prayer for strength, protection, and harmony.
The warmth of the fire, the chanting of mantras, and the unity of the community create a deeply spiritual atmosphere. Even without colours this year, the essence of Holi remains alive — because true colour comes from bhakti, from faith, from inner purity.
As the flames rise on 2nd March 2026, may Agni purify our hearts and homes. May we walk forward lighter, stronger, and aligned with Dharma.
This is not just a ritual. It is renewal.
