Ganesh Chaturthi 2026
Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is the sacred Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha – the remover of obstacles, the bestower of wisdom and prosperity, and the Lord of new beginnings.
During this auspicious festival, devotees come together to offer prayers, perform Ganesh Pooja, chant the holy names of Lord Ganesha and seek His blessings for peace, happiness, wisdom and success.
One of the beautiful traditions of Ganesh Chaturthi is the installation and worship of Shree Ganesh Ji's Murti. Throughout the festival, devotees offer flowers, fruits, sweets and especially ladoos, which are considered amongst Lord Ganesha's favourite offerings.
The celebrations conclude with Ganesh Visarjan, symbolising Lord Ganesha's return to His divine abode, accompanied by prayers that He may return again and continue to bless all devotees.
