Shri Guru Charan Saroj Raj, Nij manu mukuru sudhāri

Cleansing the mirror of my mind with the dust of my Guru's lotus feet

Barnau Raghubar bimala jasu, Jo dāyak phal chāri

I narrate the pure glory of Lord Rama, which bestows the four fruits of life

Buddhi heen tanu jānikay, Sumirau Pavan-Kumār

Knowing I lack wisdom, I remember Hanuman, the son of the wind god

Bal buddhi vidyā dehu mohi, Harahu kalesa bikār

Give me strength, intellect, and knowledge, and remove my sorrows and faults

Jai Hanumān gyan gun sāgar

Victory to Hanuman, ocean of wisdom and virtue

Jai Kapīs tihun lok ujāgar

Victory to the chief of monkeys, illuminating the three worlds

Rām doot atulit bal dhāmā

Messenger of Rama, abode of incomparable strength

Anjani putra Pavan sut nāmā

Son of Anjani, also called the son of the Wind God

Mighty warrior with the body of lightning

Kumati nivār sumati ke sangi

Remover of evil thoughts, companion of good intellect

Golden-colored, beautifully dressed

Kānana kundal kunchit kesā

Wearing earrings, curly hair

Hāth bajra aur dhvajā birāje

Holding the thunderbolt and banner in hands

Kāndhe moonj janeyu sājai

Wearing the sacred thread made of grass across the shoulder

Sankar suvan Kesari nandan

Son of Kesari and the essence of Lord Shiva

Tej pratāp mahā jag bandan

His splendor and valor are worshipped across the world

Vidyavān guni ati chātur

Knowledgeable, virtuous, and very clever

Rām kāj karibe ko ātur

Always eager to serve Lord Rama

Prabhu charitra sunibe ko rasiyā

Delights in listening to the stories of the Lord

Rām Lakhan Sītā man basiyā

Lord Rama, Lakshman, and Sita reside in his heart

Sūkshma roop dhari Siyahi dikhāvā

You appeared before Sita in a tiny form

Vikat roop dhari lank jarāvā

You assumed a dreadful form and set Lanka on fire

Bhīm roop dhari asur sanghāre

You took a terrifying form to destroy demons

Rāmchandra ke kāj sanvāre

You carried out Lord Rama’s tasks

Lāye Sanjīvan Lakhna jiyāye

You brought the Sanjeevani herb to revive Lakshman

Shree Raghubīr harashi ur lāye

Lord Rama embraced you with joy

Raghupati kinhi bahut badhāyi

Rama praised you greatly

Tum mam priye Bharat-hi sam bhāyi

He said you are as dear to Him as His brother Bharata

Sahas badan tumhro yash gāvai

Thousands of mouths sing your glory

Asa kahi Shripati kanth lagāvai

Saying this, Lord Rama embraced you

Sankadik Brahmādi Muneesā

Sanaka and other sages, Brahma and great saints

Nārada Sārada sahit Aheesā

Narada, Saraswati, and the serpent Sheshnaag

Yam Kuber Digpāl jahān te

Yama, Kubera, and guardians of the directions

Kabi kobid kahi sake kahān te

Poets and scholars cannot express your glory

Tum upkār Sugreevahin kīnhā

You helped Sugriva greatly

Rām milāya rājpad dīnhā

Introduced him to Rama and got him his kingdom

Tumhro mantra Bibhīshan mānā

Vibhishana followed your advice

Lankeshwar Bhaye sab jag jānā

He became the king of Lanka, known across the world

Yug sahastra jojan par Bhānū

The sun is thousands of yojanas away

Leelyo tāhi madhur phal jānū

You swallowed it, thinking it a sweet fruit

Prabhu mudrikā meli mukh māhi

You carried Lord Rama’s ring in your mouth

Jaladhi lānghi gaye acharaj nāhi

You crossed the ocean – no wonder

Durgam kāj jagat ke jete

All difficult tasks in the world

Sugam anugrah tumhare tete

Are made easy by your grace

Rām dware tum rakhwāre

You are the guardian at Lord Rama’s door

Ho na āgyā binu paisāre

No one enters without your permission

Sab sukh lahai tumhārī sarnā

All happiness lies in your refuge

Tum rakshak kāhū ko dar nā

With you as protector, there is no fear

Āpnā tej samhāro āpai

You alone control your great strength

Tīnōn lok hānk te kāpai

All the three worlds tremble at your call

Bhoot pisāch nikat nahīn āvai

Ghosts and evil spirits do not come near

Mahābeer jab nām sunāvai

When one chants the name of the mighty Hanuman

Nāsi rog harai sab pīrā

All diseases and pain are destroyed

Japat nirantar Hanumat beerā

By constant chanting of Hanuman’s name

Sankat se Hanumān chhudāvai

Hanuman relieves one of all crises

Man Karam Vachan dhyān jo lāvai

For those who meditate on him with heart, deed, and speech

Sab par Rām tapasvee rājā

Rama is the supreme ascetic and king

Tin ke kāj sakal Tum sājā

You fulfill all his devotees' tasks

Aur manorath jo koi lāvai

Those who bring desires to you

Sohi amit jīvan phal pāvai

Receive the immense fruit of life

Chāron Yug partāp tumhārā

Your greatness is famous through all four ages

Hai prasiddh jagat ujiyārā

Your fame illuminates the world

Sādhu Sant ke tum Rakhwāre

You are the protector of saints and sages

Asur nikandan Rām dulāre

Slayer of demons and dear to Rama

Ashta Siddhi Nav Nidhi ke dātā

Giver of eight perfections and nine treasures

As bar deen Jānaki mātā

This boon was given to you by Mother Sita

Rām rasāyan tumhare pāsā

You possess the elixir of devotion to Rama

Sada raho Raghupati ke dāsā

You are always the devoted servant of Rama

Tumhare bhajan Rām ko pāvai

Through your worship, one attains Lord Rama

Janam janam ke dukh bisrāvai

Removes the sorrows of many lifetimes

Ant kāl Raghubar pur jāī

At death, one goes to Lord Rama's abode

Jahān janma Hari Bhakt kahāī

And is born as a devotee of the Lord

Aur Devtā chitt na dharī

No need to worship other deities

Hanumat sei sarva sukh karī

As Hanuman alone grants all happiness

Sankat kate mite sab pīrā

Difficulties end and pain is removed

Jo sumirai Hanumat Balbīrā

By remembering the mighty Hanuman

Jai Jai Jai Hanumān Gosāī

Victory, victory, all glory to you

Kripā karahu Gurudev kī nāī

Grant your grace like a true Guru

Jo shat bār pāth kar koī

Whoever recites this a hundred times

Chhūtahi bandi mahā sukh hoī

Will be freed from bondage and attain great happiness

Jo yah paḍhe Hanumān Chalīsā

Whoever reads this Hanuman Chalisa

Hoy siddhi sākhī Gaureesā

Will attain success – Lord Shiva is the witness

Tulsīdās sadā hari cherā

Tulsidas is forever a servant of the Lord

Kījai Nāth hriday mah derā

O Lord, dwell in my heart forever

Pavantanaye sankat haran
